Edge-lit was fantastic! Out of the two of us, only Neil really got to see any panels, but I ran a flash fiction workshop, which was well attended, and I hope really useful to participants. The only other thing I got to see was the raffle, towards which The Slab Press donated a little prize (and got Sarah Pinborough to read a naughty postcard on stage, tee hee). Otherwise, I bumped into folks in the dealers room or at the raffle, so it was a flying hello for most people, but a boozy night followed with Pete Allison, Phillip Irving, Helen Cooper, Kevin and Hayley Redfern, and new writerly pals made on the night!
Next weekend, The Slab Press heads to Bedford for Innsmouth Literary Festival, and then on 5th October, we are more local with a Book Extravaganza at Northampton Museum and Art Gallery.
Them from 11-13th October, we are heading to Chester for Fantasycon! We have been unable to secure a table in the dealers room for The Slab, but I’m on a fair few panels, so I’ll be very busy.

Here’s what I’m up to:
Friday 11th October
Creating the Rogue: Jon Cronshaw, Phil Parker, Susan J Morris, Caroline Astiago (m), Donna Scott, Palazzo 4-5pm
Horror Reading: Daniel Carpenter, Donna Scott, Jonathan Oliver, Mark Stay, Gladstone 9-10pm
Saturday 12th October
Satire In Sci-Fi: Donna Scott (m), Susan Oke, James Flanagan, Richard Sparks, Colonnades 10-11am
Folk Stories In Fantasy and Horror: Lauren McMeneny (m), Anna Smith Spark, Donna Scott, Ian Hunter, Susan J Morris, Prince Albert 3-4pm
Sunday 13th October
Writing Comedy in Genre Fiction: Frances White, G.J. Dunn, Heide Goody (m), Liam Hogan, Donna Scott, Palazzo 3-4pm
It’s a welcome return to Chester, where I was just a year ago on tour with The Extraordinary Time-Travelling Adventures of Baron Munchausen, climbing the Roman ruins with these nutters.

Neil and I were also there back in 2018 for Fantasycon. I’ve just been chuckling at some of my photos from then. For some reason I have a lot of photos different writers giggling on a giant stone tortoise, various disco gifs, and many featuring that year’s cocktail of fashion, the P*rnstar Martini! I hope they’re still doing those… 🙂
